(Press Release) — Live Well UV (USA), a new local company, brings ultraviolet light technology to the CNMI. The company’s UV systems disinfects air, water and surfaces against bacteria, mold, spores and virus contamination. UV-C light has been around for over 100 years. New designs for both mobile and permanently mounted light fixtures can neutralize up to 99.9% of active pathogens.

A typical room 20ft x 20ft can be disinfected in approximately 20 minutes. There is no residue, no ozone or other contaminates. Room can be used immediately after UV light is turned off. UV light does not affect electronics, papers, carpeting, or plants.

Seventh-Day Adventist Dental Clinic has reacted to the current worldwide Covid-19 health pandemic by studying alternative disinfecting methods. How to improve patient and staff health safety against Covid-19 was vitally important.

Recently Live Well UV installed high energy UV-C light fixtures in each of the 12 treatment suites plus operating room. After treatment and when normal cleaning is finished, staff can flick a switch and flood treatment suite with UV-C light. UV-C light kills active viruses and bacteria up to 99.9% effectiveness as proven by multiple testing over last 100 years.

In 15-30 minutes, the treatment rooms and operating room are disinfected. UV-C light destroys virus on surfaces and in the air that chemical cleaning cannot or misses. UV-C light has been used in hospitals worldwide to disinfect operating rooms and acute care. Seventh-Day Adventist now becomes the first dental clinic on island to incorporate this technology for its patient care and staff safety.

Live Well UV president Bill Giles further explains his goal is to expand use of UV-C light beyond just medical facilities. Dental clinics, laboratories, ambulances, hotel rooms, restaurants, banks, offices, class rooms as well as private residence should consider UV-C light for additional health protection. Anywhere that people gather, or in an environment where pathogens grow, can be disinfected with UV-C light. Whether suspended in air or on a table top, UV-C destroys viruses. It kills where liquids or fogging disinfects cannot reach.

Prior to arriving in Saipan, Giles manufactured medical and laboratory testing equipment in Michigan. Equipment sold worldwide. On a trip to Singapore, Giles decided to stop in Saipan and explore whether company could manufacture equipment here or service Asian market.

UV-C lights are economical to run, last for up to 12,000 hours, no costly chemicals to buy, no additional employee time is needed. Live Well UV custom design UV light system to work within customer’s location. High quality quartz UV bulbs are made in the U.S. along with standard equipment while custom units are assembled in Saipan. Live Well’s UV’s supplier is one of the oldest and largest UV manufacturers in America. Over 100,000 installations on a worldwide basis have been installed. The company is the exclusive distributor of American Ultraviolet Healthcare products in the CNMI, Guam and the Philippines.
