YI Su Jeong bested nine other players on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Kingfisher Golf Links to win the September Ace of the Month tournament of the CNMI Women's Golf Association.

Jeong maintained a steady swing throughout the course suffering only a few bogeys. Although she had a rough start, shooting 2-over par at hole #2, her putting game was an ace in the hole as she completed most of the front nine in pars to take the lead with a gross score of 41. The back nine was no different as she duplicated her output with five pars to end with another gross of 41. Holding a combined gross of 82 and a handicap of 6, Jeong stood tall with a net score of 76 to secure the September Ace title.

The battle for second place was more suspenseful as two players went head-to-head — Yuko Togawa and Kyunga Park.

Togawa completed the front nine with a gross score of 43 and later refined her stroke in the back nine to end with a gross of 39. Her low handicap of 3 was enough to put her in second place with a net score of 79.

Kyunga Park had a few setbacks, suffering a quadruple bogey at one point, but her handicap of 19 saved her from sinking below the list, giving her a net of 79. Despite sharing a score of 79 with Togawa, Park's error bumped her into third place.

Completing the top five list was Rose Rohringer with a net score of 80 and Sherlyn Jones with 82.

The CNMI Women's Golf Association will hold its October Ace of the Month tournament on Oct. 17 at Coral Ocean Golf Resort.  Showtime is 11:30 a.m. while tee time is 12:30 p.m.
