Sherlyn Jones is August Ace

SHERLYN Jones continues to display her dominance in the CNMI Women's Golf Association as she secured the title of August Ace on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the LaoLao Bay & Golf Resort.

Jones had a great start as she got through the front nine with ease, putting her in the top three with a gross score of 42. During the back nine, her swing improved, sinking three birdies to end with a gross score of 36 to hold a total of 78. Aided by her handicap of 9, her net total came out to 69.

Kyunga Park settled for second place. She played exceptionally well, sticking close behind Jones throughout the course. She completed the first nine holes with a gross of 49 and carried on in the back nine for a gross of 47, for a total of 96. A handicap of 22 gave her a net score of 74.

Taking third place was Yuko Togawa. She had the best score in the front nine, ending with a gross of 37, but slightly lost touch when she transitioned into the back nine, scoring a gross of 40. With a handicap of 2, her net total was 75.

Completing the top five were Flor Jones and Emi Oka, who each had a net score of 75.

The next CNMI Women's Golf Association or CWGA Ace of the Month tournament will be held on Sept. 12 at Coral Ocean Golf Resort.

CWGA welcomes individuals interested in playing golf.
