THE NMI Tennis Association will resume its training sessions on Friday, June 17, 2020 at the PIC tennis court, and is also working with the Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and the National Park Service for the resumption of training at the American Memorial Park tennis court.

Since the implementation of the Covid-19 lockdown, most of the NMI Tennis Association members have taken a break.

But many, if not all, continued working out at their homes or training at private courts to prepare for future events.

“Several of our top players may be playing college tennis in the fall if their school is going to hold on-campus classes,” said coach Jeff Race.

“The Oceania Tennis Federation has not determined if the North Pacific Junior Championship — the qualifying event for the Pacific Oceania Junior Championship — will be held in October or will be canceled this year,” he added.

The junior championship is normally held in July, but due to the Covid-19 crisis, the event will be postponed until December.

On Saipan, the Tan Holdings Tennis Classic is scheduled for November.
