THERE are many ways to show your love for sports and for Norman Del Rosario, it’s by creating exciting images depicting athletes.

As an art director of IT&E CNMI, he designs print and social media ads, flyers, logos and other promotional materials.

“I’m passionate about my craft,” he said. “I have to create every day. Art is a never-ending learning process. I usually spend an hour to design something like a desktop wallpaper, a cellphone wallpaper, a lock screen wallpaper or social media designs for pro athletes.”

As a big fan of sports, he collected trading cards “back in the day and I was so fascinated by the designs that one day I just decided I wanted to do something like that, and so I have never looked back.”

Del Rosario said he eagerly shared his work online. “When social media started to grow bigger I started to get some messages from pro athletes and sports agents asking if I would like to do designs for them.”

He said he is provided photos to work with, but “each design has its story, whether personal stats or an athlete’s commitment to his team.”

Del Rosario has created many eye-catching wallpapers, including those of the late Kobe Bryant, NCAA athletes, and his very own son, Rico, a CNMI soccer player.

The biggest project Del Rosario has done so far was the design for the National Basketball Association finals. He said he teamed up with a group of 13 other graphic designers and content creators. All of them were selected so they could have an opportunity to share their talents worldwide, he added.

In addition, he has created a YouTube channel art for a five-star NCAA basketball recruit.

“I treat every project as a big project, and I always give my best to create the best possible content,” Del Rosario said.

He believes that there are many other creative talents on island. “They just need patience and they must keep creating every day. They can send me a message anytime and I’m willing to share some tips and ‘tricks.’”
