Schorr has played in various off-island competitions, including in the Pacific Games where Schorr won a gold medal in men’s single and a silver in men’s doubles.

“This is a great feeling — the adrenaline never gets old,” Schorr said after receiving the Male Student Athlete of the Year Award.

The young athlete remains humbles through every achievement and is still striving to be a better version of himself.

“Playing alongside Colin Sinclair, I look at the way he does things and how mature he is. I try to implement that to further my game in tennis,” Schorr added.

The Female Student Athlete of the Year, Carol Lee dominated her way through the Pacific Games in Samoa, winning gold in mixed doubles and women’s singles.

“I feel honored to be the Female Athlete of the Year and a member of the team that represented the CNMI in Samoa,” she said. “I would also like to thank you all for your support and for nominating me for the award,” Lee said in an interview. She will enroll at and play for Georgia Tech University this fall 2020.

The NMSA 2019 Men’s Athlete of the Year is Colin Sinclair who represented the CNMI in the Pacific Games where he won gold in men’s team, men’s single’s and mixed doubles. He also won silver in men’s doubles.
