I WAS truly humbled and honored by my selection as this year’s Life Time awardee by the Northern Marianas Humanities Council and the Governor for whom this award was named.

I am so thankful the Council is truly an independent organization that is not influenced by the politics and politicians of the CNMI. It is no secret that I have exhibited the audacity to attack the Governor and I’m sure many citizens will agree that I was right about the Governor in more ways than one. But one would think that professionalism would at least prevail and play a role in how the Governor responds to his duties even in the simple task of presenting an award that clearly has his name and signature but that was not the case — he was a “no-show.”

While the program had the Lt. Governor being the person to present the award to this year’s recipients, he didn’t show either. I’m sure the no-show without even offering an excuse to the recipients was really because the Governor and Lt. Governor didn’t want to present an award to Ambrose M Bennett of all the people in the CNMI.  This was truly an opportunity for both of them to PROVE that they are men of principles and above the fray but they chose to continue taking the “low-road instead of taking the high-road.”  They didn’t even send a representative and I had the audacity to think that the Governor or Lt. Governor would show up like a professional and that we could shake hands as gentlemen and even have a short conversation of mutual respect, but they chose to disrespect the Recipients and the Council instead. I’m sure readers will agree that if I had been a well-known GOP supporter both of them and even a GOP Crew of Candidates would have shown up with the election being right around the corner — for TRUE!

I’m sharing this because I’m not a person to play around with when it comes to our “so-call Leadership” as our children are watching and other politicians need to be reminded that they need to ALWAYS be professional in conducting their “fiduciary duties FOR the People” they work for. I truly wanted to be able to say something positive about the Governor and/or the Lt. Governor but anything positive about their behavior in presenting the award would be a lie when I only speak TRUTH(s).  The truth about “what the Governor and/or the Lt. Governor have FAILED to DO” at the Awards speaks volumes to how their politics RULE” when it should be their obligations to the People that should prevail over their personal politics!

If I didn’t say anything about the no-show of the Governor & Lt.  no one would know about this behavior over something so simple as presenting an award which should let all readers know how they will behave when it comes to the serious issues facing the People — they are no-shows TOO which is why WE the people are in such a mess with our economy.  WE the People need some “REAL-PEOPLE” at the helm of our Government as we say in my culture as these “fake-Republican politicians” can only FAKE-IT because there are no real checks & balances on nor within  the CNMI Government.  But they all (Democrats & Republicans) need to know that I will always “check-them” whenever I see them straying from their fiduciary responsibilities in representing the People they work for. Reiterating my sincere appreciation to the Northern Marianas Humanities Council for this awesome award.
