THERE is a lot of talk (gaslighting) about potential revenue-generating and self-sustaining avenues and even getting MVA to focus on high-end tourists whoever they are which is just more talk and no action making these meetings and suggestions just more GASLIGHTING Shows by the Administration!

Senator Hocog is RIGHT about “soil is money” but the question is what are the GOP going to do to MAKE our soil valuable.  He is on the right track about expanding our economic base and the possibilities of growing and selling local produce. But his problem is the Party he is working for are too CONSERVATIVE at time when we need LIBERALISM that will work FOR the People and not FOR Investors to come in and do all the work and make all the money. There is also the fact that the Republican Party hasn’t done a single thing to entice our youth to remain in the CNMI and Sen. Vinnie Sablan even confirmed this fact when he said “we may anticipate [more] people leaving the islands to seek, not ‘greener pastures,’ but just ‘pastures’ in general.” He went to add, “they’re going to leave to actually find a job, not just a job that pays more.”  This was a damming statement as it implies there is NOTHING here for our people, especially our youth and he is sooo RIGHT.

Our Republicans have been our OWN-WORST-ENEMY because of their conservative train-of-thought that goes slow, only in one direction and never reaches new destinations figuratively. The Republicans TALK a good fight because they are the only ones in control of our Political Arena but when it comes to action, there is taya (NOTHING)! They were not talking about CNMI Government Subsidies to help Local farmers and they weren’t talking about creating Farming Programs and/or Coops to build a farming community. They were just TALKING (gaslighting) and that’s about it when we need real action. But what readers really don’t know is they were thinking about investors coming in to do the work and to make the money which is why it was just TALK and the main reason voters need to put ALL Democrats in office to teach these you-know-what a lesson.

Governor Torres even wants us to know he supports the fishing, farming, and livestock industries, adding that he himself farms and fishes even though there wasn’t a singly suggestion or plan on HOW the CNMI can get it done with the Local People making his comment just more gaslighting. The Governor even wants MVA to promote Northern Islands for high-end tourists and I can only wonder where he got that idea after Jerry Tan weighed in. First and foremost, it’s great to try and do this for the N. Islands as it should have been done over a decade ago when I was begging for the Pozzolan Mining that would have given Locals a real source of funding and a support system in the N. Islands. But more importantly, WE the People need real NUMBERS in tourism not a few rich people who really won’t make a dent in our economy.  For me, this is just another Gaslighting Show to make it seem like they are trying to do something — ANYTHING that can mislead the People. A lot of us folks-in-the-cheap-seats will be waiting see these high-end tourists flocking to the N. Islands Governor.

But the big finale of the Gaslighting Show came when OUR Governor said “I think it’s an excellent time with the downtime that we have and we’re able to promote something when our tourists come back. It’s a new Marianas,” which is what the governor told the MVA board during the meeting in his conference room. OMG, what does he think is new here, certainly not the half-finished casino!  I guess high-end tourism is the “restart of our economy.” Come ON Gov, give us all a break. But I’m wondering why wasn’t any consideration to starting the Cannabis & Hemp Industries that will build good paying production and manufacturing jobs with a nominal number of employees and create exporting opportunities again. Oh I forgot, they want investors to come in and do the work again which is why we will just have to wait until the Democrats get voted in because this is really just a waste of time trying to get our Republicans to do anything that requires HELPING and EMPOWERING the People as ENTREPERNEURS in our economy. Just let them continue gaslighting until the election as WE the People who are informed and have common sense know what time it is, as we say in my culture. To be continued: One People One Direction
