DEAR Governor Torres,

The “ideal of being innocent until proven guilty” still exist with some members of our community regarding the FBI raids and the many allegations of fraud in the misuse of Government funds and there are those, including self, who believe you are guilty.

We all know that Kandit News is not “fake news” so please don’t even try to play that losing card. Over the weekend Kandit has released more allegations of you committing what I call “petty crimes” of fraud in the misuse of Government funds. I said previously it seemed like you were being petty but evidence continues to pile up that much of what you did was extremely petty and egregious (outstandingly bad and shocking) given you are the top official charged with carrying out CNMI Laws.

PLEASE tell us Governor that you have an explanation for these allegations beyond you respecting the process. The People of the CNMI need to hear from you and not one of your emissaries given the GOP President is saying all the allegations are baseless — so please expound on this revelation for the People you are supposed to work-for and serve. If you have a defense it is time to share some of it now with the People as even in a real trial there is “exculpatory evidence for the defense” that is shared before the trial — meaning your rationale for your defense doesn’t need to be a total secret. You have chosen to leave your People wondering around in the Torres’ Sea of Guilt figuratively without saying anything of real substance for guidance as our leader and most of us are NOT going to go leave you alone until we get some answers!

What is your rationale for all the reimbursements that appear to be illegal? How can you have a drinking and pizza snack party at 2 a.m. and charge it to the CNMI? That is just insulting to our intelligence. What is your explanation for the First-Class travel that violated CNMI law and please don’t tell us the Feds allow it like one of emissaries in the Legislature claimed because you and your spouse were using CNMI money, not Federal funds to travel? I will say on your behalf Governor that the Legislature should fix it for the CNMI top officials (Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker and Senate President) to fly business class as it is only proper and fitting for the top officials to fly business class on CNMI business but right now it is still against the law to fly Frist Class & Business Class. Kandit has truly lived up to its name of shinning the KANDIT (light) on corruption in the CNMI.

The casino should be giving odds on your conviction Governor like the casinos would do in Las Vegas if it was happening with their Governor as it would be a great fundraiser for the CNMI Medical Referral and even hilarious? But like many in the community, I am wondering when will it end as there seems to be no end in sight with all the fraud and misuse of OUR money! If you don’t want to say anything and let the evidence continue to mount without defending yourself it’s your prerogative. But I do want to tell you that your silence has contributed to People already verbally brandishing the phrase “Biba Democrats” when they see me in the public, so THANKS and keep it up Governor! One People One Direction.
