(DPS) — On Friday, Jan. 3, 2019, at about 10:30 a.m., the Department of Public Safety received a 911 call reporting an assault and battery incident at a gas station in Chalan Piao. Police were dispatched to the scene.

Inario Bisanen

Nearby police units in the area, arrived on scene and met with the caller. The caller told police that they witnessed a gas attendant get assaulted by a customer. Police then met with the victim, and immediately noticed that the victim had a swollen eye, and a scratch on his nose. The victim stated that they did not know the suspect, or why the suspect got angry.

Police learned from the victim and witnesses at the scene, that the victim was pumping fuel into other vehicles when the suspect drove his vehicle into one of the gasoline pumps. The victim went over to the suspect’s vehicle and asked how much gasoline he would like to purchase. The suspect stuck his hand out the diver side window and handed the victim a $20 bill. The victim ran into the gas station and returned with a receipt for $20 worth of fuel. The suspect grabbed the receipt and threw it back towards the victim. As the victim continued pumping fuel into the suspect’s vehicle, the suspect stepped out and walked toward the victim. The suspect asked the victim where they were staying, and what was their telephone number as he told the victim that he was going to kill him. The suspect then punched the victim in the eye, and removed the pump nozzle from his vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle came out and guided the suspect back into the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Dispatch was notified and a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was diving was sent out to all officers. A few minutes later, a police unit conducting routine patrol in Koblerville, noticed the described vehicle parking in front of a store. The officer pulled into the parking lot and identified the suspect as Inarrio Bisanen. The officer arrested Bisanen for disturbing the peace and assault and battery. The suspect was transferred to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained.
