AFTER reading the news about the illegal dumping at the Chalan Kanoa cemetery, the USNS Soderman will donate 20 used 55-gallon drums that can be used as trash bins.

The captain of the prepositioning ship, who requested anonymity, has designated crew members Matt Neil and Sean Cavy as contact persons.

Despite the “No Dumping” sign at the Chalan Kanoa cemetery, people continue to leave their trash behind.

Community volunteer Max Aguon has been asking the public for cooperation in maintaining the cleanliness of the cemetery.

Many people are cleaning the graves of their loved ones in preparation for All Saints Day and All Souls Day, Nov. 1-2, Aguon noted.

He said there are no trash bins at the cemetery, so he will collect the trash there every Saturday.
