(CUC) — The  Commonwealth    Utilities   Corp. said an emergency   power   service   interruption    occurred  Thursday  at 9:22 a.m.,   which affected  Kiya 2,  3,  4 and Feeder 4 and Feeder  7.

The  cause  of the outage  was  an overcurrent   ground  as a result of high voltage  conductors making   contact   in  the  high  winds   on  Chalan  Monsignor   Guerrero   Road  fronting   the  Kiya Substation   tripping   the  Kiya  3   Circuit.

This  vault  inevitably    triggered   a  low   frequency   and disconnected   the  Aggreko   Power  Plant    tripping   Feeder  4 and  7,  which  includes   Lower  Base, Sadog  Tasi,  Capital  Hill,  As Quina  (Wireless),  Mt. Tapochao,   Talafofo,   I-Denni,   Agag,  As Teo, Papago,   entire  Kagman,   Lower  Base,   Tanapag,   As Mahetog,   Achugao,  San Roque,  As Matuis, Marpi,    As   Lita,    Chalan    Monsignor     Martinez    Road,   Tottotville,    Koblerville,     Afetnas,    San Antonio,    Fina  Sisu and Chalan   Piao,   Gualo  Rai, Chinatown,   Garapan  and Chalan  Kiya.

Power to the affected  areas  were  fully restored  at around  10:30 a.m.   after CUC  operators were able to re-energize  the engines.

Water and wastewater  services  were  not affected  during  this outage  period.

CUC operators  are currently    monitoring   the  power   plant's   engines   and  are  currently   working   with  the  power division    on scheduling  an emergency  power  outage  for the proper  installation  of the inefficient installed    distribution    lines   that caused  the power  outage  Thursday.    Updates  will  follow  as soon  as they are available.
