McDONALD’S Restaurant Saipan on Friday donated $5,000 to the Rotary Club of Saipan’s Goodwill Golf Tournament that will be held at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort West Course of  on Oct. 10.

The $5,000 donation will be one of four hole-in-one prizes at the golf tourney.

On behalf of the other Rotarians, club president Sonia Dancoe expressed her gratitude to McDonald’s for its generous support.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dancoe said the club decided to forgo its signature annual fundraising event, Las Vegas Night, and will hold a fundraising golf tournament instead.

She said 140 players have already signed up for the tournament in which three other  hole-in-one grand prizes include a 2020 Mazda 3 Signature Hatchback courtesy of  Triple J Motors, a 2020 Honda Insight EX0 sponsored by Joeten Motors, and $5,000 bankrolled by Pacifica Insurance.

“I want to thank the Rotarians, the donors and sponsors,” she said, adding that the donated prizes have made the tournament exciting and worthwhile.

She urged members of the community to join the tournament, which is for  a good cause.

McDonald’s Saipan owner/operator Marcia Ayuyu said,  as the past president of the Rotary Club of Saipan, she knows how difficult it is to raise funds for worthwhile community projects as she also expressed her gratitude to the other supporters of the Rotary Club.

She said McDonald’s will continue to support the Rotary Club which, she added, is doing its best to help the community.

She also said that McDonald’s is already looking forward to McFun Run, another fundraising outdoor activity that may be held in January.
