AFTER receiving face masks from the Seventh-Day Adventist Church-Women’s Ministry, Tinian Elementary School was also provided with school supplies and hygiene supplies by the Saipan Marianas Lions Club.

Club president Ladyvir Canape said she and other club members flew to Tinian to deliver the school and hygiene supplies for 231 students.

She said the club’s GoFundMe page financed the donation.

“People on Tinian are strictly following the government’s protocols on social distancing and social gathering, but we were told that [hygiene] supplies are expensive and limited there,” she added.

Last year, Oleai Elementary School and William S. Reyes Elementary School were the recipients of the club’s donations.

This year, Canape said they added hygiene products — alcohol, hand sanitizer and disposable face masks — to the school supplies the club donated to the Tinian students.

For their assistance and support, Canape expressed her appreciation to Blanca Imbo, Jhun Canape, Loisa Cabuhat, Wellington Ang, Henie Esmero, Enkh Amgalan Tserendorj, Josie Benavente, Eden Mercado, Jane Silapan, Allen and Susan Perez, Alma Basilgo, Daniel Yang, Annie Payne, Teresa Aldea Kane, Sumie Kuha, Marissa Reyes, Perlie Tolentino Santos, Emelio Uy, Mar Masilungan, and Beyond Limits 670 Car Club.

Ladyvir Canape said the Saipan Marianas Lions Club is now accepting donations for the people of Rota.
