Governor signs four bills into law

(Office of the CNMI Governor) — Gov. Ralph DLG Torres on Thursday signed the following bills into law:

• Senate Bill 21-2 which includes the CHCC Diabetes Care and Control Center as a program recipient of the Tobacco Control Fund; and for other purposes.

Authored by Senate Floor Leader Justo S. Quitugua, the bill becomes Public Law 21-13.

• Senate Bill 21-3 which adopts the International Building Code as the official building code of the CNMI.

Authored by Sen. Sixto K. Igisomar, the bill becomes Public Law 21-14.

• Senate Bill 21-10 which mandates the Department of Public Lands to issue the deed of conveyance within 45 calendar days to homesteaders who had entered the homestead and complied with the laws and regulations pertaining to homesteads; and for other purposes.

Authored by Sen. Francisco Q. Cruz, the bill becomes Public Law 21-15.

• House Local Bill 21-33 which amends the Saipan Zoning Law of 2013.

Authored by House Floor Leader John Paul P. Sablan, the bill becomes Saipan Local Law 21-11.
