THE Saipan Marianas Lions Club resumed its cleanup drive at the Garapan Fishing Base over the weekend, club president Ladyvir Canape said.

They also conducted a cleanup activity at the Gov. Eloy S. Inos Peace Park in Puerto Rico on Aug. 2.

Canape said they collected 14 bags of trash at the Garapan Fishing Base on Aug. 22.

Among the cleanup participants were nine club members, one guest, and one prospective member Norman Del Rosario.

Canape said members of the Saipan Marianas Alpha Leos also joined the activity.

She said there’s a need to constantly remind beach and park users to properly dispose of their trash.

Although there are trash bins in the area, she said, some people are still leaving their trash on the ground.
