YOUTUBE personality Robert Arrington described the chain of islands up north as "Outdoor Paradise."

“Each island is so unique,” he said, referring to Anatahan, Sarigan, Guguan, Pagan, Agrihan, Asuncion, and Maug.

"It creates this wonderful challenge of how far you are going to go," he said in an interview before meeting with Rotary Club of Saipan members on Tuesday.

Arrington, who is helping promote the CNMI as a tourist destination through his “Deer Meat for Dinner” YouTube channel, said the  most important feature of the Northern Islands is that it is United States territory.

"I believe that 'Made in America' means something to the people on the mainland," he added.

He said many U.S. servicemembers fought and died in in the Marianas during World War II.

"Lots of people are going to want to come and see these beautiful islands for their historical and cultural aspects," he said.

During his trip to the Northern Islands with Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, Arrington said they had to navigate through the night “in extremely rough seas and a huge storm."

But he believes they have captured “the most epic footage ever shot in the Northern Islands.”

Arrington said he has no contract with the CNMI government in filming the Northern Islands for his YouTube channel “Deer Meat for Dinner.”

The $59,000 in hotel occupancy tax collections allocated by the Marianas Visitors Authority for the promotion of the Northern Islands was spent on fuel and other costs needed on the trip to the Northern Islands.

"I didn't get any money," Arrington said, adding that he ended up spending $100,000 out of his own pocket.
