THE House of Representatives on Tuesday presented a framed  copy of a commemorative resolution honoring Robert Arrington and his YouTube channel, "Deer Meat for Dinner" for promoting the CNMI as an eco-tourism destination.

House Resolution 21-31, authored by Rep. Joseph Leepan Guerrero, states that “a great community is only as great as those individuals who provide selfless service, whether through unique personal achievement or other endeavors, or simply through a mission of promoting our great Commonwealth as a prime eco-tourism destination.”

It adds, "Since its inception in 2013, 'Deer Meat for Dinner' has grown and developed into one of the most highly touted YouTube channels, consisting of over two million subscribers all around the world."

The CNMI, the resolution stated, “is proud to welcome an individual who shares the same love for both family and nature, as well as recognizes the importance that both facets have in our everyday lives.”

"It is with great privilege to welcome such a remarkable individual, who is recognized on both a national and international level, to showcase the love and beauty of our islands through the use of a digital platform such as YouTube for the rest of the world to experience and be influenced by," the resolution added.

Arrington, for his part, expressed his gratitude to CNMI lawmakers and the administration for their support.

He also commended the medical staff in the CNMI who tended to him when he endured a case of cellulitis.

"The level of organization far surpasses anything that we have back home… It has been seamless…you should be so proud of that," he said.

"The beauty of the CNMI is untold. I take it as a personal responsibility with my channel, 'Deer Meat for Dinner,’ on YouTube to tell the entire world not only how beautiful it is, but how accessible it is and how ready it is for their arrival," he said.

"It doesn't matter if we have just five people come here from the mainland. Those five will become seeds [when] they go home and they tell all the people in their surrounding group how amazing it is, and those five will send more and more people here…. When they go home, I guarantee you that they will have a wonderful story to tell. It's the same story that I've learned from 2018 until right now."

"The CNMI is my second home,” he added. “I love each and every one of you. I thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart for your friendship and your encouragement and your support. This is not the last time I'll be here. God bless you guys.”

In his remarks, Speaker Blas Jonathan Attao thanked Arrington and his team for promoting the CNMI and  Rep. Joseph Leepan Guerrero and other members of the House for introducing the resolution.

"We are faced with a lot of challenges here,” the speaker said. “There's a lot of negativity going around, but at the end of the day, [this is an] opportunity to promote our home and who we are as a people.”
