(NMI Republican Party) — On behalf of the CNMI Republican family and board of directors, president James Ada recognized Rep. Janet Maratita for her tremendous service to the CNMI.

“Representative Maratita is a trailblazer, whose contributions helped catapult the CNMI economy and who worked closely with her colleagues to ensure that the Super Typhoon Yutu recovery effort and the needs of the current Covid-19 pandemic effort were carried out exceptionally.”

Gov. Ralph DLG Torres said Representative Maratita is truly a representative of the people.

“Representative Maratita never fails to be critical of issues that she has questions about, but she never politicizes those issues, and she has worked shoulder to shoulder with her colleagues to make things happen,” the governor said.  “Her thoughtfulness, contribution, and willingness to work together for the community, will be missed on the floor of the house.”

Likewise, Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios recognizes the representative for her honest dedication to the community.

“Representative Maratita isn’t there to grandstand or forward any personal political ambitions.  She is there because she truly cares about the CNMI.  I have appreciated her support and willingness to work together for this community.  I am sure she will continue to work for the community in whatever role she might go on to, because this is her calling.”

Serving her community has, and will always be, her greatest passion.

Representative Maratita acknowledges the continued support and encouragement of her family members, friends, constituents, and the Precinct 1 community, for entrusting her to represent them. She pledged to continue to serve the community she loves in other public service capacities and community involvement.

Ada looks forward to the representative’s continuing advocacy for those issues that are most important to this community.  “We appreciate her service and her continued support and look forward to her continued contributions to the CNMI.”

Representative Maratita has announced that is not seeking re-election.
