THE Marianas Visitors Authority board on Wednesday reelected Marian Aldan-Pierce as chair and Gloria Cavanagh as vice chair.

Also serving on the board are Christopher J. Nelson, Ivan Quichocho and Masato Tezuka who were elected by the MVA membership in July.

Cavanagh and Nelson sought another term on the board while Jerry Tan of Tan Holdings Corp. and Nick K. Nishikawa of the Hyatt did not seek reelection. Their terms ended in May.

In a recent interview, Tan, who chairs the newly formed Governor’s Council of Economic Advisers, said he will continue to support MVA programs.

“But we should let [the board have some] new blood and new ideas,” he added.

The other MVA board members are the governor’s appointees: Viola Alepuyo, Warren F. Villagomez, Agida T. Quitugua, Thomas T. H. Liu and Aldan-Pierce.

Also on Wednesday, the board elected Agida as secretary and Nelson, treasurer.

The board also created the committees on finance, personnel, destination and enhancement, and  marketing and promotion.

Aldan-Pierce said board members can choose which committees they would like to join.

Correction

MVA will participate in the upcoming Pacific Asia Travel Association “Dream to Travel Festival,” which is a free online event and not a summit.
