Precinct 3’s Villagomez seeks another term in House

PRECINCT 3 Rep. Edmund Sablan Villagomez on Tuesday officially filed his independent candidacy.

At the Commonwealth Election Commission office, he was joined by family members, friends and supporters who included Reps. Ed Propst, Tina Sablan, LJ Castro, Sen. Vinnie Sablan and U.S. Congressman  Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan.

Villagomez thanked the people of the CNMI, “especially of Precinct 3, for the opportunity they have given me to serve them” for the past 10 years.

He vows to “continue to serve them as best as I can.”

He added, “I’ve always said that for as long as they give me the opportunity to serve them I will, I will take that opportunity.”

Villagomez said he always put the people’s interest first. “Whether it’s popular or not, as my track record shows….and I will humbly ask for their [constituents] support as I make my way, if they allow me, into the 22nd Legislature.”

Villagomez first ran in 2009 as a Covenant Party candidate. He was reelected in 2012 and sought a third term in 2014 as an independent candidate. He also won in 2016 and 2018 as an independent.
