THE Living for Jesus Fellowship church on Chichirica Ave. in Garapan celebrated its 17th anniversary on Saipan.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, church leader Angel Carandang said they had to conduct church services online.

When the CNMI government eased the restrictions, he said they reopened their church while observing social-distancing protocols.

“It’s a great blessing that we are able to celebrate our anniversary despite the challenges,” Carandang added.

Their church service  is now held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. every Sunday.

In her message during the anniversary celebration on Sunday,  church member Theresa G. Cayading emphasized the importance of forgiveness.

She said their anniversary theme —  the “Stubborn Love of the Father” — reflects the unwavering love of the father in the  biblical story of the prodigal son.

She said the goal of every Christian is to reach out to Jesus.

“We can’t fathom the love of God,” she added, as she urged church and community members to continue building a good relationship with God.

The anniversary program was highlighted with special songs performed by the youth group of the church, and concluded with a fellowship potluck.
