HOUSE Committee on Commerce and Tourism Chairman Joseph Leepan T. Guerrero said on Wednesday that he appreciates the administration efforts in showcasing the ecology of the islands by accommodating YouTube host, Robert Arrington.

Arrington, a professional hunting guide who hosts the YouTube show, “Deer Meat for Dinner,” is in the CNMI to explore the Northern Islands. Almost two years ago, he was on Rota, which he featured on his YouTube show that has garnered 1.2 million followers and drew 7.2 million views.

In an interview on Wednesday, Guerrero said ecotourism is another way of promoting the CNMI. Ecotourism, he said, can draw rich and famous adventurers to the islands. This will bring the islands to the attention of potential visitors from the U.S. and the rest of the world, he added.

“An outdoors man can enjoy the wildlife in the islands up north…. We have a lot of game and wildlife. It’s a unique destination that the outside world has yet to see. With Mr. Arrington and his YouTube followers he could showcase what the CNMI has that no one has seen yet,” he said.

“These are like enchanted islands where visitors can come in to explore what the islands have to offer,” he added.

Guerrero said he and other lawmakers appreciate the  efforts of the administration to bring in Arrington. “I, for one, truly want to meet this guy,” he added.
