MARIANAS Visitors Authority Managing Director Priscilla Iakopo said the Department of Finance remitted $300,000 in hotel occupancy tax collections on June 12.

Iakopo said this has allowed MVA to pay its local vendors and 75 percent of its off-shore vendors for their February invoices.

As of last week, Iakopo said the payables of MVA for off-shore promotional and marketing accounts amounted to $645,057.

“But every month we are getting remittances from the Department of Finance,” she added.

Finance still owes MVA $2.2 million in fiscal year 2019 and $5.4 million in fiscal year 2020.
