ALLAN A. Lifoifoi, 38, was arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree, sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, and disturbing the peace.

At a bail hearing on Friday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $50,000 cash bail on the defendant and set the preliminary hearing for June 19 at 10 a.m. The Public Defender’s Office was appointed by the court to represent Lifoifoi.

According to the complaint filed by police detective Rosa T. Rios, a woman told the Department of Public Safety on Wednesday morning last week that she learned that Lifoifoi had sexually touched her son inappropriately sometime between March 7 and March 12, 2020 at their residence on Saipan.

The boy also said that when he was about 8 and 10 years old Lifoifoi sexually abused him.

The  boy’s mother likewise reported to the police that Lifoifoi is a registered gun owner and carries a handgun, adding that she was scared.

At 12:41 p.m. on the same day, police brought Lifoifoi to the DPS Criminal Investigation Bureau where he was questioned. He was later released pending further investigation.

On Thursday, DPS received multiple calls concerning Lifoifoi who, in a Facebook post, said he didn’t know what to do with the sexual abuse of a minor complaint against him.

He also said that he was ending his life on Mt. Tapochau and that he would only speak to police detective Rosa T.  Rios.

Rios  proceeded to Mt. Tapochau where she persuaded Lifoifoi to step away from the edge.

Lifoifoi was then arrested and brought to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained.
