JOE Ayuyu Jr. is  willing to chair the zoning board again.

“If [my fellow board members] elect me then I will serve,” Ayuyu said, after he was sworn in last week with two other newly confirmed board nominees, Kevin Deleon Guerrero and Perry Inos Jr. The three will serve on the board for a term of two years.

Ayuyu is now in his fourth term and is the most senior member of the board.

The other board members are Tatiana Babauta and Frank Aguon.

In an interview, Ayuyu said the board may start conducting public hearings on conditional use permit applications from businesses and entrepreneurs in July.

Since March, the zoning office could not conduct public hearings due to the board’s lack of quorum.

The pending conditional use permit applications include those submitted by Shalom Church which wants to occupy a pre-existing one-story structure for its church establishment in Fina Sisu; Global Corporation Phoenix Garden A, to occupy a pre-existing one-story structure for its bed and breakfast establishment in Garapan; and Saba Corporation’s carwash establishment at a pre-existing structure in San Antonio.
