TINIAN Mayor Edwin Aldan is urging community members not to throw trash in public places.

He said the municipal government has designated trash areas for those who gather and host parties at Tachogna, YCC, and Kammer beaches.

Aldan said personal or household garbage should be placed in designated trash bins.

The mayor noted that the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality recently announced that it is strictly enforcing the CNMI Litter Control Law and will impose penalties on violators as provided under the law.

Aldan said community members should secure and throw their trash once they are finished using public areas to avoid being penalized.
