THE Friends of CW, which initiated a care-package distribution program, has launched another community project.

Organizer Irene Nepomuceno Holl said they are now working with the Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force in assisting community members who want to be tested for Covid-19.

“Our goal is to have more people get tested,” she added.

As of June 9, Holl said they had already assisted 67 individuals and had registered 14 other people scheduled to be tested this week.

The Friends of CW is “going around” to ask people to register for the test, Holl said, adding that their group has also reached out to the Chinese, Korean, Bangladeshi, and Nepalese communities.

Moreover, “we have contacted community-based organizations and associations and are coordinating with employers” whose workers want to avail themselves of the free test, Holl said.

The Friends of CW will assist an individual register for the test and will provide transportation to the testing site.

To register, interested individuals are encouraged to visit the Facebook page of Friends of CW or call 989-0258.
