Rotary Club of Saipan conducts beach cleanup

THE Rotary Club of Saipan conducted its monthly cleanup campaign on Saturday on Beach Road in the Oleai area.

Club president Marcia Ayuyu said they collected six bags of trash.

“We found cans, bottles, plastic, used face masks, foam paper,” she said. Beachgoers, runners and walkers should also help keep the environment safe and clean, she added.

Besides Ayuyu, the Rotarians who participated in the cleanup included Ben Babauta, Das Krishnan, Joann Aquino, Judy Mendieta, Hiroki Stewart, Brian Clayton and wife Diana.

Ayuyu said she is very grateful to her fellow Rotarians for supporting the program.

Starting at 8 a.m. on June 13, Saturday, she said they will conduct another beach cleanup, this time at the Garapan Fishing Base, including the Garapan Fish Market area.
