THE Bayani or Heroes Association, one of the most active affiliate members of the United Filipino Organization in the CNMI, distributed 20-pound bags of rice to 75 individuals from various ethnic groups on the island.

Bayani president Leonila Mendoza said they want to help some of the community members who are affected by the economic downturn caused by the Covid-19 crisis on Saipan.

“Our assistance is very limited, but we really want to help even in a small way,” she added.

She said the Bayani Association is also very grateful to its donors for making the food distribution on Saturday possible.

Bayani secretary Mario Mayuga said they are hoping that more groups, businesses, and individuals will also share whatever blessings they have with the less fortunate.
