THE Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation is now using Situation Awareness Response Assistance or SARA Alert to track community members who may have Covid-19 symptoms.

SARA Alert allows enrolled individuals to report their symptoms using the communication tool of their choice — web, text, email or phone call.

Earlier, CHCC used Text Illness Monitoring or TIM.

“Like, the TIM system, SARA Alert allows CNMI public health officials to enroll individuals at risk of developing a coronavirus infection so those individuals can report on any symptoms they're having,” CHCC said.

SARA Alert provides public health officials with real-time insights regarding the virus in the community. It also allows surveillance staff to follow up with people reporting symptoms.

“SARA Alert’s multiple access methods increase efficiency in tracking potential cases, leading to earlier containment of the virus and reduction of burden on our public health resources,” CHCC added.

SARA Alert was developed by organization called MITRE in collaboration with federal, state and local public health agencies.
