Saipan municipal ID renewals through online submission and scheduled curbside pick-up service

(Press Release) — The Office of the Mayor of Saipan has temporarily closed its office to the public in response to the CNMI Covid-19 Emergency Directives. While in-person services are suspended until further notice, the mayor’s office will be providing municipal ID renewals through an online submission and scheduled curbside pick-up service.

Effective April 27, 2020 the Office of the Mayor of Saipan’s ID section will be providing an online submission and scheduled curbside pick-up service on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. All required documents must be submitted online. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be designated for receiving and processing new IDs (applications can still be submitted online on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but won’t be ready until the next scheduled pick up date). Early application submissions are currently being accepted.

Municipal ID renewal/replacement requires the following:

1. Receipt of Payment (Copy)
• Payment of applicable fee for new or renewal of Municipal ID at Revenue and Taxation Cashier’s office
Under 18 years of age $7
18 to 54 years of age $15
55 years of age or older $7
Disabled $7

2. Municipal ID Application
• Visit www.saipanmayor.net and download the Municipal ID Application and complete and sign the Application.
• On the Home Page, click on “Services” tab, then click on “ID Section”. After reading requirements click on “ID Application Link Click Here”.

3. Provide a copy of the Expired/Current Municipal ID Card
• Provide a copy of the expired/current ID card being renewed. If in case you misplaced your expired/current ID, you need to provide a copy of your birth certificate, valid passport, or voters card.

4. Submit a copy of receipt, application and ID via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
No printing of required documents will be done at the Mayor’s Office.

5. Allow 24 hours for processing and completion of ID and/or during the next scheduled pick-up date.

When picking up your ID at the curbside pick-up location, please be advised of the following:

• There is no entry allowed into the mayor’s office building. ID Cards will be handed over to the customer at their vehicles parked outside the office.

• Mayor’s office staff will bring your ID to your vehicle and will need to verify your identification by matching the ID photo and your appearance in person.

• Parking areas are located in front of the office building, along the track and field grass area, and along the side of the office building.

• When you arrive at the mayor’s office and safely park your vehicle, call 234-6208 to notify the mayor’s staff of your location in the parking area, and a brief description of your vehicle.

• No persons are permitted to get out of their vehicles while waiting in the parking area to visit with other customers waiting. Everyone is advised to remain in their vehicles.

•No large crowds will be permitted to gather in the parking areas or anywhere on the premises of the mayor’s office.

The mayor’s office is strongly encouraging everyone to comply with these instructions for the safety and well-being of staff and other customers using this service. Continue to practice social distancing, proper hygienic practices like handwashing, and recognizing symptoms.
