THE Marianas Visitors Authority board has approved a request for proposals for security guards, lifeguards, maintenance, and cleaning of tourist sites, especially the Grotto in Marpi.

MVA Managing Director Priscilla Iakopo said they need to issue an RFP because the current contracts are expiring this summer.

“Because at the end of the day, those services are definitely needed because of our tourists,” she added.

However, due to the steep decline in tourist rivals amid the global Covid-19 outbreak, she said, “We may have to reduce the scope of work.”
