THE Saipan mayor’s office will install more solar panels at Sugar King Park in Garapan.

Mayor David M. Apatang said the solar panels will be donated by a private company, which he did not identify.

In October last year, his office installed 10 solar panels at the park.

The mayor said his personnel will also renovate and apply a fresh coat of paint on the buildings and concession stands at the park.

He said they will also remove overgrown vegetation on the pathway to showcase the entirety of the park, including the historic Japanese train engine.

There are four vendors already at the park food court, the mayor said, adding that two more vendors are finalizing their agreement with his office so they can sell food items and locally made handicrafts.
