MHS student wins 1st shoreline casting tourney

MARIANAS High School student Derrick Reyes won in the first shoreline casting tournament on Saturday.

The event was organized by the Saipan Fishermen’s Association for its “Tasi to Table” Youth Fishing Club members.

About 40 high school students participated in the event, which was held from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.

Wayne Pangelinan, SFA’s community outreach chairman, thanked Saipan Fishing Tackle & Sporting Goods, the main sponsor of the event, for the rod and reel combos the store gave to each participant.

Pangelinan also thanked the other sponsors: Marpac, D&Q Saipan, Terry’s Snack Bar, 4ever CNMI, and Bestseller.

The students who participated in the event were from MHS, Saipan Southern High School, Kagman High School, and Da’ok Academy.
