THE Marianas Visitors Authority board approved the allocation of $25,000 for this year’s Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden.

The festival is held every Saturday in May.

“We were able to negotiate to lower the price,” MVA Managing Director Priscilla Iakopo said, referring to the cost of hosting the event.

But she added that compared to previous years, the cost has gone up even though some businesses on island continue to sponsor the event.

This year, MVA is not certain yet whether the event will be held at American Memorial Park again.

Iakopo said MVA is also considering Sugar King Park and the Garapan Fishing Base, but parking will be a challenge at both sites, she added.
