THE Rotary Club of Saipan has donated $3,000 to the Northern Marianas Trades Institute.

Club president Marcia Ayuyu said the donation came from Las Vegas Night, the annual signature fundraising event of the club.

The trade school, she added, has been doing lot of good things for the community in terms of expanding the local workforce. “They are training people that the business community needs,” she said.

Rotary Foundation director Agnes M. McPhetres, who is also the chief executive officer of NMTI, said the donation will be used for the purchase of tools and equipment.

“Our trade students cannot move on to a higher level unless we have all the tools and equipment they need,” she said.

“So thank you Rotary Club members — you have been very generous,” McPhetres said, adding that club members are also making Educational Tax Credit donations to NMTI.
